CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF SCOUTING

The 21st World Scout Jamboree, a celebration of the first hundred years of Scouting, is shaping up to be the Jamboree of all Jamborees!

Based on the vision of One World, One Promise the jamboree is scheduled to be held at Hylands Park Chelmsford, Essex, England from June 27th through July 18th, 2007, and promises to be the largest gathering of Scouts ever.

The Boy Scouts of America's contingent plans are not yet announced but, because of the significance of this jamboree, are certain to be extensive. Since home hospitality programs (refered to by the Brits as Ho Ho) are already being set up for this event, we would expect the BSA contingent units to participate in this great feature of a jamboree.

Because this is Scouting's centenial celebration there will also be ceremonies at Brownsea Island, the birthplace of Scouting.
