The special Mt. Diablo Silverado Ambassador patch is worn in place of the standard Council shoulder patch on the left sleeve just below the seam.
REQUIREMENTS:
The following are alternative requirements set by the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council International Committee ("MDSC IC"), to earn the MDSC AMBASSADOR patch:
- Participate in a minimum of one long term (minimum of 5 nights, 6 days) international scouting activity that have been pre-approved by MDSC International Committee (Jamboree, Encampment, Exchange, Moot, etc.).
- Participate in three separate approved International Scouting events of at least two days/one night's duration each (including Hands Across Border Conference, Philmont International Scouting Course, etc.) The qualifying event(s) must be when the Scout/er was a registered member of MDSC (transfers in from other Councils, who participated in such events from that council, do not qualify to earn the MDSC AMBASSADOR patch).
- Serve actively on the MDSC International Committee for two years, including service of Chair of at least one major MDSC International Committee activity such as Scout-O-Rama International booth chair, University of Scouting presentation, JOTA Chair, WFF Patch Chair for a year, etc.
NOTES:
- Scout(er)s may receive up to 2 patches per each qualification. Cost is $6 per patch. A Scout(er) may qualify for additional patches by meeting the full requirements again.
- Qualifying dates: retroactive to 1-January 1995.
- Certification must be provided to MDSC International Committee as the basis of application for the patch.
- Patches are controlled and only issued by MDSC if qualified. -- a list of qualified recipients is maintained by the council International Committee.
