HOW IT WORKS

You can help those affected by the tsunamis and the humanitarian crisis they have created, by making a financial gift to Scouting's World Friendship Fund. All gifts made to this fund will be designated for the program to rebuild Scouting. This fund enables the World Organisation of the Scout Movement to provide vital support to the Scout victims and units in need.

 
The World Friendship Fund

The World Friendship Fund was developed by the Boy Scouts of America during the closing days of World War II. At the time, there was a great need to rebuild Scouting in nations that had been wracked by war and were just emerging from the shadows of totalitarianism.

Through the World Friendship Fund, voluntary contributions will be directed to Scouting associations in countries effected by the 2004/2005 Tsunami to provide service to those who the Tsunami have hit the hardest.

 

"TSUNAMI SCOUT AID"

We express our condolences to all who have been tragically affected by the earthquake and tsunami which has hit so many countries.

In particular, we extend our sincere sympathy to all Scouts and their families who may have suffered personal loss as a result of this natural disaster.

Half of the world's 28 million Scouts live in the affected countries, and we hope they can help the victims by working with disaster relief authorities as needed. To aid these Scouts, we are asking all Scouts, leaders, and citizens to make a donation to "Tsunami Scout Aid." For each donation of $20 (or more,) we will send a custom-made Tsunami Aid patch.

All donations may be tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law (consult your tax attorney for any questions); you will be provided a receipt for this contribution.

Process Summary

  • Submit a TSUNAMI SCOUT AID DONATION FORM
    • Donations may be made through PayPal® using your PayPal® account or a credit card.
      • Donations within the United States may be paid with personal checks or money orders.
    • Donations from outside of the United States may be paid with International Money Orders or Foreign Drafts in US Dollars only.
  • One patch maximum is shipped for each $20.00 (US) Tsunami Scout Aid donation.
